She is known as the Sri Lankan chess Queen.♟

Sachini Ranasinghe is a Sri Lankan chess player with the title of International Master of Women. She was born in 1994 in Abu Dhabi. She was educated at Museus College. She was first introduced to the game of chess by her brother. From an early age, she excelled not only in chess but also in other sports such as netball. Trained under several eminent chess players including her current coach Ransith Fernando, she has written a book titled "Thumula and His Wonderful Army" to arouse the interest of young children in the game of chess in Sri Lanka. She also served as the Brand Ambassador for Sri Lanka.

Sachini Ranasinghe was the first Sri Lankan player to be awarded the International Women's Masters title and to have won the 2012 Asian World Cup Chess Championship at the 2012 World Chess Championships. She is an enthusiastic person with an interest in the experience, as well as a quick and efficient team worker. She is willing to use her learning ability to achieve the skills and knowledge team goal.

She has had many local and international successes. As for her awards and recognitions. They are,

Fide arbiter (examination passed) -FIDE (2018)

Women’s national chess champion – (2009,2011,2012,2013)

World chess Olympiad team member – (2010,2012,2016,2018)

Asian zonal 3.2 chess championship – champion (2011)

Represented Asian 3.2 at women’s World Cup (2012)

Best script- SLTTI film festival (2014)

Best script – alliance Francaise drama festival (2013)

She has also coached Gateway College from 2014 to 2017 and from Museus College from 2013 to the present. Also, She has participated in the Asian Youth Chess Championship (2019) - ARBITER and gained experience. She currently runs her own chess academy called "sach chess academy."

Currently, she is engaged with Maldives ports limited, she represented MPL in and won the best performance on board 1 and the MPL team won the Maldivian interoffice chess tournament. She is the first Sri Lankan player to play in a foreign chess team. She volunteers for many chess federation workshops and seminars to spread chess in Sri Lanka, she motivates young talented chess children to reach their goals. Even outside of Sri Lanka she conducted a chess workshop in the Maldives to motivate more women chess players to engage in sport. She is a sports motivational speaker.

Sachini Ranasinghe is the strongest Sri Lankan women chess player in this era. And she is known as the Sri Lankan chess Queen..👸🏻

Lastly, I would like to add,

She is the world champion star beautiful inside and out. I closely know about her because we are cousins.

For her my late father in the world, for us she is our elder sister. She is one of the kindhearted, strong, independent women, always encourages me to be better and succeed in life. She is someone who would take a nerf bullet for me. For her even though she is a star-level chess player, she would sit with all our cousins and feed us with her hand on family functions.

One more thing to add, some think chess players are only smart and intelligent: she is a happy fun bubble that always spreads love and laughter. I am very happy and proud to call her my sister!
